ServiceNow, Training Operations

Interface with ServiceNow’s technical teams, such as Cloud Operations and Technical Support, to analyze training needs, design and develop new training curriculum, as well as deliver training materials.

  • Five-hour new hire orientation training that introduces the ITIL framework, as well as ServiceNow’s product, service and infrastructure.
  • Virtually deliver thirty-minute transfer of information sessions.
  • One-hour instructor led presentation about incident response.

Instructional Designer
San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine,
Center for Advanced Learning

Taught the best practice in hospice care and compliance to 800 clinical and administrative employees, who serve an average daily census of 1,000 patients.
Developed SCORM complaint training in Articulate and Captivate complete with animation, annotation, audio, interactions, and performance assessments. Project highlights are:

Partnered with physicians and clinical managers to develop curriculum.  Deliverables included:

  • Guides on clinical documentation for nursing, social work, and spiritual counseling.
  • Eighteen instructional designed Webinars hosted in Adobe Connect and then adapted into a web-based training for future review by staff.
  • PowerPoint presentation used for employee orientation, clinical development and community clinical outreach

Identified design and functionality improvements for delivering training. Deliverables included:

  • Transformation of several leader-led courses into asynchronous web-based training, such as curriculum on elder abuse, final hours of life, and spiritual pain.
  • Restructuring the design and flow of the organization’s learning management system (LMS),, so it became more accessible and navigable for staff­­.
  • Collaboration to write a five-year strategic action plan for developing education for the organization.

Multimedia and Program Design Specialist
Division of Undergraduate Studies, San Diego State University

Built a pilot University Seminar hybrid course in Blackboard and managed the online section that was accessed by twenty instructors and over 900 students in Fall 2009.

  • Teamed with university directors to adapt the traditional face-to-face curriculum into fifteen online modules.
  • Incorporated videos, articles, and simulations to motivate and sustain the learners’ attention.
  • Presented this project to faculty at the 2010 Course Design Institute and at an ITS workshop.

Developed, updated, and managed over fifteen websites.

  • Websites met accessibility requirements and Universal Design for Learning guidelines.
  • Created distinctive templates and themes for each program website, including the Division’s Study Abroad office, University Honors Program, Common Experience, and Compact Scholars.

Administered forms in SurveyGizmo and SurveyMonkey to collect data for Division programs.

Instructional Design Consultant Intern
School of Teacher Education, San Diego State University

Retrofitted eSupervision, a hybrid course, in the LMS Moodle and developed an accompanying website in WordPress. Approximately sixty postgraduate students and instructors accessed these tools each semester.

  • Collaborated with faculty to update the course curriculum for an online environment.
  • Wrote a job-aid on how to access and navigate through the LMS course.

Educational Technology Postgraduate Student
Educational Technology Master Program Project Highlights

Applied research, learning theory and emergent technologies, along with child and adult psychology, to solve instructional and performance problems. Project highlights:

  • A five-hour curriculum on dining etiquette, which included a website, facilitator PowerPoint presentation, e-Learning assessment, and instructional job-aid.
  • An interactive e-learning lesson on critical thinking, which included a goal and task analysis, test items and feedback, and a prototype test report.
  • A performance analysis on telephone use, which also involved of an evaluative summary and job-aid.
  • An educational board game on sexual wellness, consisting of rules, board, and design document.
  • An instructional animation video on putting together an IKEA table.
  • An informal learning-aid for guests at an art museum. Project documents included a project proposal and evaluative assessment.
  • A preliminary research study on LMS usage in postgraduate learning, which involved proposing learner intervention based on the analysis of collected qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Wrote several technical documents including an executive summary based on formal research, project proposals, and client memorandums.
